Overview
The steelmaking arc furnace transformer is a special transformer designed and manufactured according to the specific power supply requirements of electric arc furnace steelmaking production.
Applications
It is used for smelting high-quality steel, alloy steel, and aluminosilicate refractory fibers.
Feature
Structural Features
In addition to the characteristics of ordinary transformers, arc furnace transformers must meet the special requirements of steelmaking processes, including a certain overload capacity and mechanical strength against short circuits.
The regulation methods of arc furnace transformers are divided into two types: on-load voltage regulation and no-excitation voltage regulation. Arc furnace transformers with on-load voltage regulation are not equipped with series reactors.
Arc furnace transformers with no-excitation voltage regulation have two structural forms: those with series reactors and those without. Both structures can change impedance at the maximum secondary voltage. The former changes impedance by switching the series reactor on and off, while the latter changes impedance by altering the connection mode of the high-voltage windings of the arc furnace transformer itself.
